Hello! It's tar.tea.ne, artist, craftswoman, and full-time tea fueled human being!

I live in a small countryside village near Périgueux, in the south of France, that’s where I make colorful, handmade (and silly!) rugs and cross stitch patterns surrounded by birds, yarn, and my two magnificent beasts Mana & Udon!

Before beeing tar.tea.ne I tried a lot of different things,
It took time (and a few identity crises), but in 2019 I went to art school and that’s when something finally clicked. I knew I wanted to make art ’till the day I get arthritis (hopefully I won’t *crossed*)

I first started as tar.tea.ne, making stationery and all kinds of products. I was doing a bit of everything, trying to make it work… until I burned myself out (*hug*)

So I decided to start again!
Slower, more intentional, and a lot more fun!

When cozy meets chaos

Today, Atelier tar.tea.ne is a reflection of what I truly love
(don’t get me wrong, I still love stationery, my soul is 40% stickers and washi tapes)

☼ cross stitch, slow, calm, cozy ☼
tufted rugs, fluffy, colorful, chaotic ☼

I LOVE crafts in all forms crochet, painting, wood, embroidery… and probably many more I haven’t tried yet!
Making things with my hands has always been part of who I am

My world is filled with cute fruits and vegetables, a whole lot of silly, a bit of chaos, and full of love

Everything is 100% handmade, which means it takes time, patience, and a lot of planning (and tea, always tea)

Why tar.tea.ne?

Ahahah, you would like to know huh?
The name tar.tea.ne is in fact a little wordplay

It’s pronouced like the french word tartine which is a slice of bread (usually baguette, since it’s the best bread you’ll find on earth) you eat in the morning with butter, jam, honey or whatever tastes nice!

It’s also a hint to my slightly concerning tea consumption (no judgement please, I’ll get help at some point)
I drink an ungodly amount a day, so it’s safe to say I am fully fueled by tea!

So naturally :
tea + tartine = tar.tea.ne

Simple, cozy, silly… just like me!

Most of what I make starts as a silly little idea, and slowly turns into something real

So if one of my pieces ends up in your sweet little home,
it means a part of my world, my energy, my chaos came along (please take good care of it!)

Thank you for being here and supporting Atelier tar.tea.ne 💛
